Taking psychotherapy into unusual spaces, with Nick Totton and Allison Priestman. Four four-night residential workshops at Unstone Grange, N. Derbs, spaced over a year, Autumn 2007-Autumn 2008. Ł1600 for the whole course; the first residential can be taken separately for Ł450 .

Practical Magic explores how psychotherapy connects with areas of human experience we tend to call 'magic' 'spirit' 'uncanny' While not a psychotherapy training, it can be expected powerfully to change and deepen an existing practice; and equally, to powerfully change and deepen your personal relationship with the universe, your sensitivity to energies, beings and thresholds of transformation. The first workshop offers the opportunity to go through a birth experience and then through a symbolic death/rebirth, as preparation for the rest of the course.

Nick Totton
I am a therapist and trainer with well over twenty years experience. Originally a Reichian body therapist, my approach has become broad based and open to the spontaneous and unexpected. I have an MA in Psychoanalytic Studies, and have also worked with Process Oriented Psychology and trained as a craniosacral therapist. My biggest current interest is in ecopsychology.I have a twenty year old daughter. I have written several books, including Body Psychotherapy: An Introduction; Psychotherapy and Politics; and Press When Illuminated: New and Selected Poems. I recently edited New Dimensions in Body Psychotherapy (with a chapter on ERT). I live in Calderdale with my partner and grow vegetables.
